Explore Science 2026
The Team robOTTO participated in the Explore Science Festival from September 24 to 26, 2026, at the Elbauenpark in Magdeburg. Under the theme „Inventions & Discoveries“ the Elbauenpark was transformed into an interactive space for science and technology, inviting visitors of all ages to explore, investigate, and experiment.
At Explore Science, children, young people, and families had the opportunity to experiment, explore, and gain exciting insights into various scientific fields at numerous interactive stations. The Team robOTTO from Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg also took part, bringing the fascinating world of robotics directly to visitors.
Using a variety of robotic systems, the team demonstrated the diversity of modern robotics. The mobile platform Euler showcased the autonomous transportation of industrial objects, while the humanoid robot OTTO captured the attention of the youngest visitors, sparking curiosity and bringing smiles to their faces.
In addition, visitors had the opportunity to get hands-on, try out robotic arms, and gain their first programming experience, depending on their age and interests.
The activities provided a vivid demonstration of how mathematics, computer science, natural sciences, and technology work together to create intelligent systems from individual technical components.
The interactive activities demonstrated that applications like these involve more than just advanced technology—they also require creativity, systematic problem-solving, and teamwork. At the same time, visitors gained insights into research and student-led development at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg.
Once again, Explore Science provided a platform in 2026 for communicating scientific topics in an accessible and interactive way.
For the Team robOTTO, the event provided an opportunity to share their enthusiasm for robotics, engage with young technology enthusiasts, and demonstrate how exciting the combination of science, technology, and hands-on applications can be.
We would like to thank all visitors for their great interest, thoughtful questions, and engaging conversations. We look forward to inspiring people with the fascinating world of robotics at future events!
